I had to laugh at those who said Craigslist isn't high-tech enough. That's kind of the point. It's a message board - not a website. It doesn't need music, flash, graphics or java. It's just for text and photos. For those of you who are having problems with responses from scammers, here are a few tips. 1) Open a junk email address (Yahoo, Hotmail) just for Craistlist stuff. 2) Specify in your ad that the person responding MUST put a certain word in the subject line (if you don't see that word when you check your email, just dump all the other ones). 3) If you MUST put your phone number in the ad, break it up so it doesn't read like a phone number. Instead of 908-999-9999 use something like 999-9999 area code is 908. 4) Don't bother writing something like 'no scammers, please.' It's not as if writing that will stop a scammer! Craigslist is free, but they ARE making an effort to cut down on the junk - at least the stuff that's been littering the site. However, remember, putting your info ANYWHERE on the web will get you a lot of SPAM (which is why you should never post your email address anywhere). Bots or crawlers troll the web looking for live email accounts (in a scammer's mind, potential customers).

I have used it a few times and found it very useful. It is perfect for getting rid of things that you don't want any more but is still good for someone else. I really liked it everytime I have used it.

Craigslist is good if you need to get rid of stuff for free, but alot of spam

I love Craigslist, I use it all the time and get great items CHEAP! I got my Samsung Vibrant on there, brand new with all the accessories and I'm not locked into a contract. I've listed stuff on there before and have sold it, but sometimes it's a little annoying when people flake on you or say they are interested and then stop contacting you. But overall I love it.

I used this site to sell all of my large baby furniture and it was fantastic! Everything sold in the 1st weekend and was picked up within few days.

Craigslist is a mess! I can't go to a website that looks like it was made by an elementary school student and even think about using it. I know people rant and rave about it, but only because it is FREE, which is probably why it looks like crap. Craigslist should clean up their act and join the new eara in website design and navigation.

I love craigslist. I look at it almost everyday for furniture, and antiques. At this point I've only purchase a couple of things, but we recently purchased a house, so I'm fully expecting to find more things to fill our house. And I'm interested in refurbished our furniture and there are great finds for that on craigslist.

I love craiglist, I am really starting to get sick of the emails from scamers though. For instance, you post something. You get an email saying, "available". And you respond saying, "duh, yeah". and you get a follow up with some kinda..you can go here and buy cheap...or blah blah blah....I will give you a check now and all you have to do is..... Scams are becoming to common.

We love Craigslist.. W e can always find whatever we are looking for either for free or for a small price.. We look thru Craiglist 2-3 times a day for random stuff.. Then we need to get rid of things it's a great place to list for sale or for free as well!!! The bonus it's free to list!
