PMD is a personal microdermabrasion device meant to be used at home. The PMD device cost only a fraction of what a Microdermabrasion treatment at a spa or dr's office would cost. What I have to say about this product though is that there definitely is a learning curve. The very first time I used the device I really didn't know what to expect. I've never had microdermabrasion in my life. It was a bit uncomfortable at first. I ended up with some red brush burn type marks on my face. After about the 3rd attempt to use the device I figured out that I really had to muscle in the aluminum oxide crystal discs. Once I made sure I got it in there, it worked much better. The device comes with a dvd with step by step instructions. My advice, try it on a weekend or a day or two before you have to go back to work or a big day. Just in case. Once I got the device to work and followed the directions to a "T" I did notice small changes in my skin. The softness and texture of my skin changed almost immediately. The signs of aging are have lessoned as well.
I purchased the PMD in hopes that it would help with my acne/scarring. I was a bit disappointed when it only seemed to help slightly for my skin in the 4 months I've had it so far. However, I admit to not using it religiously and also my acne is quite bad at times. Also, I have Keratosis Pelaris which means my body produces more skin cells than it needs aka thick skin as well as other symptoms. I wouldn't say that it was a complete waste of my money but if I knew then what I know now, I might not have purchased it. However, I do think that the PMD is beneficial to those fighting aging and those with relatively clear skin who just want that extra care. My only real con about this would be that it's quite tedious to do but it's for beauty!
