This urban fantasy novel is just as good as the first, and Charlie is a great character. Charlie really uses her powers in this book, and she discovers an ability she didn't know she had. There is a lot character development along with great action. Sometimes authors write too much character development and neglect action or the other way around. Gay has the perfect balance. I'm not going to tell too much but I think the author is setting up a potential love triangle for future novels. So I am curious how that is going to play out, but I doubt this series is going to step into the paranormal romance genre.
