Just awful writing. I really didn't care for it at all. It gives off strange undertone of obsession and the wrong relationship ideals... But its marketed towards young girls as romantic.

I had a really hard time getting through this book, it was a very slow read and really did not hold my interest. I kept pushing on hoping it got better. With all the hype on this series, I read the first two books, and have to admit that I am extremely disappointed. I will not read the others in the series.

I hated this book for several reasons. First and foremost, Bella is a whiny little ninny. She has no backbone, and (in my opinion) gives the impression that being so emotionally involved with a relationship that you lose all sense of who you are as an individual is acceptable. I loathed this book so much that I couldn't bring myself to read the others.

I could not stand this book! I kept waiting for something to happen, and nothing did. I agree with an earlier reviewer in that it may be more appealing to tweens. I read it to see what all of my 7th graders were raving about. I guess that anything that gets them excited about reading is ok, but it definitely wasn't for me.

Most over-rated book ever written. I don't understand the hype at all. I really did not enjoy it.

Horrible writing. I threw the book across the room about half way through it. The writing is just so bad. I finished it but would never read another book by this author. Bella was an endlessly irritating character - just toooooo perfect . . . .

Everyone just loves this story because its about a guy waiting for a girl forever. GAH, its horrible writing and I've read tons of books and will continue to read books but meyers made me want to hit her in the head with this book. Its horrible writing, horrible storyline, horrible ending, horrible way to do stuff. Hate it! If you want to waste your life reading this horrible book series then be my guest but if you want something with good writing buy another book!

I read the whole series and was greatly disappointed. The story was a drag and what happens to the vampires in the sun made me laugh like really I don't think I'll ever read anything from this author again.

Really bad. I couldn't make it all the way through the first book. Bella was too much of an airhead for me. I really didn't feel any kind of connection to any of the characters. Plus, it was really boring reading.

My friends really seem to enjoy this book.

I used to enjoy this book, but now that everyone's so obsessed with it I can't stand it. It's good, but not that good. It's hard for me to take the plot seriously after the first book. I've read all of them and I enjoy pretty much all of the characters, except Bella and Edward who slowly started to drive me crazy.

I liked the movie but was really disappointed with the book. i didn't think the writing was very good at all. Even for a young adult novel, I thought the writing could have been better. The plot and overall story was a good idea but with such poor writing I couldn't even get through the book. Disappointing.

I personally found Edward's obsession with Bella disturbing and her attraction to him superficial. Their relationship seems unhealthy and sometimes abusive. I don't deny it is an entertaining read but I don't think the romance should be idealized.

Easy reads but her word phases are rather limited. Her main character is always "dizzy" or her head is always "spinning". I understand the target audience is teenagers so I didnt expect much.

The writing was okay. It was a great book but it took me awhile to get into it. Meyers did a great job with the characters but her writing could have been better.
