DONATING (hurricane victims, women's shelters, etc)

Hi there. Just wanted to address that donating "non critical" items to charities can really make a difference in emotional well being. Specifically, I enjoy donating makeup, personal care and fashion accessories to appropriate causes. Sure, this may seem a bit unnecessary (esp to hurricane survivors), but think of it this way: how good do you feel when you're rocking a new, super flattering lipstick? Now, just imagine someone who lost everything and probably isn't even thinking of that... now can experience that little luxury. It also helps create a sense of "normality" to someone who has had their life completely disruptive. Some may view this as shallow, but sometimes little things can speak volumes. Please remember to contact the specific charities ahead of time to see if they accept these items. Esp. if you'd like to donate gently/lightly used/unpackaged makeup items to see what their policy is. Many cosmetics can be sanitized via cosmetology standards.
