I have been married for 41 years . I am 57 with 3 grown children and 5 grandkids. All different ages. Girls and boys. And I'm raising one that has special needs. This one has been the one that changed me. I thought l knew everything about love....but she showed me true love..she accepts me for who I am...not what I could be...where I was weak her strenght in what she's been through has made me strong...I love each and everyone of them and try to have special our times together. My grandson is very hyper so I put on my tennis shoes because I know i'm going to be running right behind him (he makes Dennis the menace look like an angel) . They all are different and I wouldn't change a thing....

Grandparenting, in my opinion, is by far the best joy and gift your children can bestow on you! I don't see any challenges as long as you remember your place and not try to step in and parent the way you did or think it should be done. I have 5 children and 4 grandchildren to date ranging in age from 4 months to 16 years. They all truly put a smile on my face just by watching them in whatever activity they maybe engaged in. Don't order think it....just enjoy them for the people they are....big or small!

I too have 4 children and 5 grandchildren with the youngest being 9 months. He is the light of my life right now. My daughter lets me be such a big part of his life. He is so fun. My hardest part of being a grandmother so far is my youngest son literally "hates" me. No lie. Watching him treat his children the way he and his wife do just kills me. I can't stop it and he won't let me be part of their life.
