Skin texture

Ok so the skin on my face looks just fine without makeup (aside from looking tired haha!) But as soon as I put my foundation on you can just SEE the horrible texture! I have tried lotions and exfoliating to reduce this problem but IT WILL NOT GO AWAY. Anyone know what I can do?

I would say to adopt a skincare routine that is targetted to help with texture issues. Products containing active ingredients like AHA's (glycolic or lactic acids) help to exfoliate the skin by increasing cell turnover. BHA's like salicylic acid help to exfoliate and dissolve keratin to keep pores clear, which in turn helps pores appear smaller. Always remember to use a sunscreen every day with these ingredient, because they make your skin more photosensitive. Other ingredients I like to include in my skincare regimen for my texture issues are Vitamin C and niacinamide. It is important to keep your skin hydrated, as the acids may cause your skin to become more dry. Another option would be to see you primary care doctor or a dermatologist for a prescription for Retin-A (tretinoin). This is a vitamin A derivative that can help with acne and aging. It works by increasing cell turnover. Make sure to read the directions before using as there are many considerations to keep in mind.

I would also recommend dermaplaning to remove the peach fuzz on your face that can sometimes be highlighted by foundation.
