Has anyone ever adopted a retired military dog? I am interested in doing so, and have heard that the Air Force in particular has a lot of dogs who need homes. I know that these dogs can have the same problems with stress and PTSD as humans, and they need something to do now that they're no longer on active duty.
I'm wondering what your experience was for those who had done so. How have you handled the issues that can come up with retired military dogs? How are these dogs with families? I imagine they each have different temperments.
