knitting help

I have been knitting for a while but just recently switched to 12.5cm knitting needles due to arthritis in my hands and wrist. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to not let the knitting become so loose. And for some reason I must be doing something wrong because I end up with more on the needle than what I started with.

I switched to bamboo needles for the same reason. I don't have a problem with stitches and my hands don't bother me at all!

To keep the knitting stitches smaller try keeping tight tension on the yarn while working your pattern but also know with bigger needles you are going to get looser stitches. Sometimes bamboo can help and be easier on the hands.
