The best thing about social media, especially Twitter, is getting news as it breaks from around the world. The worst thing is the hostility and bullying that goes on when people express thier views.

I've been on social media more than usual lately, and I'm starting to feel stressed out by it. I feel like Twitter is a good way to see things as they're happening, but it's also deeply divisive, and EVERYthing is turned into something political. I've felt myself getting sucked into it in a way I've never been before.

I've been avoiding Facebook altogether. What used to be a nice way to catch up and keep in touch with people I don't get to see has turned into a place where I see the true feelings of people I thought I knew - and not in a good way. The whole thing's kind of depressing.

I love keeping in touch with people you may not get to see otherwise. And learning about new places and spaces. I don't like it when I find myself comparing to others. So I try to limit interaction with accounts and pages that make me feel bad about myself
