Are you stocked up on essentials during this time? What items did you make sure to have? What are you missing? How are you getting what you need?

I feel ok.  I feel like I am spending a more now becauseI feel like I have to buy to stay stocked up. I usually shop deals & use coupons but there hasnt been much of that.
Canned items ( soups , beans)
Pasta
Chicken
Eggs
Orange Juice
these are a few things that go quickly . I actually found a a company that sells in bulk to restaurants to get chicken. It was $15-20  for 10lbs of chicken breast. So was happy to stock up on that.
I found going earlier is best to get other items .

I rarely shop for groceries as I always eat lunch at work and pick dinner up on way home.  I also was working way to many hours so when everyone was emptying store shelves I had no idea what was going on.  I am having hard time finding sugar for my coffee as well as interesting things to eat since I can't get my food from restaurants.

Being a couponer has made things much easier for my family. We already had a bunch of toilet paper, paper towels, and a few other imperishables before all this started, and have bought one package of each since the lockdowns. The biggest challenge is that we go through everything more quickly with everyone being at home all day.
Buying imperishables online is helpful - things like cleaning and self care products.
As for food, simple is best. Milk, eggs, bread, meats, fruits and veggies. Fruits and veggies are still readily available in my area. Maybe because this particular crop yield was planted before all this started, and because these types of things are perishable. So there's no point in stocking up. Cows and chickens are also not affected by this virus like we are, and famers still need to harvest their yields. So it makes sense. Really, just simple baked chicken with various spices/marinades and a side of veggies and pasta. It's been working so far.

Yes, I am now. I made sure when I saw toilet paper to grab an extra pack (some places allow you to only purchase to packs, so I did that) because it is so hard to find.
