I donate extra clothing, books, and current magazines to a local charity resale shop.

I recycle as well as use reusable bags and reusable water bottles. I donate clothes and other items instead of throwing stuff in the trash. I recycle batteries and electronics as well as taking paints and other toxic items to authorized places for disposal. Also cutting my water use down especially when washing dishes.

I bring reusable bags to the supermarket, recycle paper/cardboard/plastic/aluminum/glass, use plastic bags from stores (and collect plastic bags from family members) as garbage bags so I never purchase them, recycle any plastic bags I can?t use for garbage, recycle all bottles and cans for refunds at the supermarket, and I purchase most of my daughter?s clothing secondhand or receive it as hand-me-downs

We compost all of our food waste and yard waste. We recycle almost everything and throw away very little. We fill up reusable water bottles instead of using single-use plastic water bottles. We use reusable containers and utensils for lunches at work. We also have one car in our household, and I drop off my husband on the way to my work rideshare location, where I carpool every day. We walk to our kids' daycare to pick them up instead of driving there. We also set our home thermostat to about 68 degrees when we're home and 62 degrees when we're not home during the wintertime, even when it's below freezing outside.

I bring my own bags to all the stores and I wash out all my cans before I recycle them.
