When you eat out with friends, do you split the bill evenly, contribute just what you ate, or take turns paying? Do you use Venmo, PayPal, credit cards, cash or something else? How has this changed since mobile payments became commonplace? Tell us your favorite bill-paying strategies and you'll be entered to win $25 toward your next meal (paid how you want to spend it: Venmo, PayPal, or Amazon gift card!) We usually just request separate checks, or if they can't do that we use Venmo or Chase QuickPay (or whatever it's called now). We split it by what people got, because it wouldn't be fair for me to have to pay for someone's alcohol and steak dinner if all I got was soup and water (or vice versa!). I especially like when restaurants (like Red Robin, I think it is) has the kiosks that allow you to select what each person is paying for and swipe the cards right there.

We take turns paying the bill when I go out with friends. I still like to pay for meals with cash or my debit card rather than use a charge card.

We usually just get Separate Checks and each Ferrell. It might be old-fashioned but it seems to work out fine.

We always go dutch that way everyone can order what they want freely without worrying if someone else cannot afford their meal.

We usually just split it down the middle. No one is selfish enough to order something that much more expensive than anyone else. We pay in cash.

We just get separate checks....I never eat out with more than two other people, so it's easy.

Usually take turns or each pay our own portion but we've haven't ever used any type of mobile pay to do so.

My husband always takes the bill no matter where we are or who is with us he has always been like that and it's always with cash very old school

I use cash so it?s not a problem to pay my share . If the party uses credit I just give them my portion !
