I am 5'7" which really isn't super tall. However, as most girls do, I got tall quickly and some of my Junior and early high school days, I was taller than some of the boys. Being a formidable time for kids, I was very self-conscious. .With out thinking about it, I would slouch a it. My Mother would always tell me to hold my head up and bring my shoulders back. This would develop good posture. To this day, I remember her saying it like it was yesterday. Mom passed away May 2015, I am not sure if I truly ever sincerely thanked her. I have 3 boys, now amazing young men. They are 27, 23 and 22. They were brought through childhood with the understanding that being respectful to their elders as well as all individuals was extremely important. I will have to say, that thought sank in and they "got it"!

My mom always told me to go for what I want. Not to hurt others along the way but not to worry about me being a female, that it should not interfere with my goals.

Family will always be there for each other. Friends and boyfriends come and go but when the chips are down, you can always count on your family to be there.
