If you shop on either of those days, do you go for the sales or for the experience? Which stores are your favorites? If you avoid those days, why? When do you shop instead?

Everyone who comments will be entered for the chance to win a natural jute shopping tote bag. Giveaway is open through Dec 4, 2016 to U.S. residents at least 18 years of age.

I shop Black Friday every year, I love the deals and the chaos. I will not shop on Thanksgiving, those employees deserve the day off with their families.

I run out to the bakery and cvs on thanksgiving once my turkey is in the oven. On black friday, I really only hit Walmart and target, but that is late morning. Never up too early...deals not worth it!

I try not to go out until after Thanksgiving. My focus is on my family and relaxing.

I prefer to stay home and relax on Thanksgiving - if I do any shopping, it would be online. I used to work in retail years ago, and I think if I was that person, I would not like to be working on Thanksgiving.

I prefer online shopping to avoid the crowds and fighting.... But I sometimes feel brave and see a deal worth fighting for and go in store. This year will be only online.

I usually go to CVS, Rite-Aid which are open on thanksgiving day and have some good deals on basic products. I tend to avoid stores with huge crowds.

When I was younger I feel like I would always be excited to go Black Friday shopping early Friday morning, but now I don't feel like I have the patience. Plus I hate how Black Friday deals start on Thanksgiving Day. Talk about inconvenience of trying to choose if I should spend time with my family or go shopping. It's ridiculous how the market has changed so much and I feel horrible for all the workers that rather be at home spending time with their family but instead have to be at work. I've been there and I know how frustrating it can be. I think this time around I may just stay home and do Cyber Monday. Unless I find something at a store that I really need to buy, so far my favorite stores like Target don't have any worth going to the store deals, but that could always change.
