What have you done to make a positive influence online? What have you seen others do? What else can be done?

I've found that the more we try to reason with the ones doing the bullying, the more they bully. The more hateful comments they make. And if you reply with a positive, they just shoot it down with more negativity. Because in the end, they just don't get it or just don't care. Sometimes you really can't get through to someone that is full of hate and negativity. I do agree that the more positive we stay, the more others will see and join in. But I also think that if someone is going to be mean and negative, they most likely will be regardless. That makes me sad.

I don't respond to the negative posts. It just seems to keep people fueled up and looking for fights.

I personally always provide comfort to others who are hurt. But I still feel free speech is very important.

Lately it seems like I have been receiving criticism for topics I am posting where others seem to get away with whatever. Am I simply being paranoid or is there a double standard going on here?

I post inspiring quotes/images, I compliment people who have been put down (combat negative with positive comments), and I try to be more supportive towards everyone online.

I was always taught that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. I think commenting on someone else's negativity is never a good idea and only leads to drama.

There is way too much negativity and harsh words spoken and written in today's society and that needs to end. My thoughts are if a person wouldn't want their children to be the victim of bullying, then they need to be careful of how they need to be careful of how they interact with others whether or not they agree with their thoughts. Respectfully respond or respectfully disagree.

I have a few friends on my social media page and I always make sure to say something positive about them. I actually have been fortunate enough to not get any harassing or bad comments on my posts but my friend has gotten some. When I see that she does I usually post and tell her to not even let it phase her and I also comment on the one who made the nasty reply and let them know that they shouldn't judge others or say those things.
