Are women supportive of each other?

We surveyed 2,000 SheSpeaks members and only 37% said that they believe that women are supportive of one another. Does that surprise you? Do you agree or disagree? Share your thoughts. We want to know what you think!

I am not surprised. I know women that are very supportive of other women and I strive to be supportive myself. But I also know of women that spend most of their time trying to tear down other women in order to make themselves feel better. So sad.

This is definitely surprising. We should be lifting each other up, walking side by side, and empowering each other through every aspect of life.

I'm not surprised. A lot of women have a competitive mindset, therefore strive to always want to be better than others. I find that when I'm feeling down or negatively about myself, more women seem to kick me when I'm down as opposed to helping me up. Although, I know many women who are always looking out for fellow females, most I know do not.

37% is pretty sad. I would think women would support women but that is not always the case. I do see many women being critical rather than supportive in areas like raising a family (breast vs bottle, vaccinate vs not, stay home vs work). I also see it in the workplace with women being critical and overly competitive with other women. I guess I just didn't think it was as bad as the survey suggests.

I want to believe women will support each other, I always do my best to support all women, I know for a fact we need to stand by each other, women multitask so well.

I don't find it surprising especially when I see it a lot on social media women tearing down other women because of looks weight and parenting styles.

Wow - I would have thought that it would have been higher than that. It does surprise me. But - it may be that women, some women, may still feel the need to prove themselves and even see other women as competition

I definitely surround myself with positive, supportive, loving women and do feel supported in my circle - I wish as women gain perspective maybe through age or experience or social circles, that they would support each other more.
