I just received my second slow cooker. I never used the first one and gave it away and now I just received a second one for Christmas. I guess I should try this one out but I am not sure about the whole slow cooker thing.

I love mine, too, and have used one for the nearly 20 years I have been married. There are so many incredible meals to be made, with minimal fuss and clean up, that I cannot imagine why more people don't use one. For Christmas day, I cooked 4 cornish hens on high for 6 hours then put them in the oven for 15 minutes just to brown them - they melted in the mouth and tasted so delicious. My husband surprised me with a new one for Christmas - it is an All-Clad cooker with a cast aluminum insert that can be used on the stovetop for searing meats before placing in the cooker, sealing in the juices for unbelievable flavor. I used it today for butterflied pork loin chops, cooking them on low after searing with a drizzle of olive oil. I sprinkled a packet of onion soup mix on top, added some butter gold potatoes and let them simmer all day. They came out beautifully - completely intact and perfectly glazed with an onion gravy. The guy that invented slow cookers is one of my heroes!

Having a party this weekend....so I'm making meatballs as an horsdeurve. In the slow cooker it's a breeze! Mix BBQ sauce, apricot jam, and meatballs. Let cook on low for several hours....great dish! anyone have any great soup ideas?

I love love love my crock pot. I at some point will buy a smaller and larger one. I used mine the other day to make chicken and dumplings. I also use it regularly to make homemade applesauce. A crockpot is a necessity in every house!!

I use my crockpot quite frequently! I work full time so I love that I can put in all the ingredients in the pot first thing in the morning and come home to a freshly cooked dinner.

I adore my slow cooker! I work at home and am busiest when my teenagers are ravenous! Making dinner in the morning is so much easier! Check out A Year of Slow Cooking-http://stephanieodea.com. especially the index under "Slow Cooking". She as several cookbooks available and 365 recipes for the slow cooker.

I need to find more recipes for my slow cooker. I normally will do beans in mine and add sausage with chicken broth for a quick meal. One of the biggest advantage about using a Crock Pot is that I don't have to stand over the stove. I can go about my day as my food cooks.
