I need to find an excellent red wine to serve at a formal tea. Most of the attendees prefer a desert wine, but The menu is a variety of finger sandwiches, and several tables of deserts. I'm not a wine expert and could use anyone's suggestion . thank you

With dessert I would go with a white Moscato or a sparkling Prosecco.

I love every wine I have tasted from Duplin Vinyards. They are a bit sweeter than most, but not as sweet as a dessert wine. The bottles are not too pricey, right around eight dollars. My favorites are Hatteras, Black River Red, Scuppernog, Bald Head Red, just too name a few. Not sure where you are, and if these are available in your area. My best friend lives in Oregon and she hasn't found them there, but here in North Carolina, and in Virginia we can buy them almost anywhere. Good Luck!

Ok try the Cupcake Red Velvet. Yes "Cupcake" is the name of the winery and "Red Velvet" is the name of the blend. SOOOO good! Have suggested it to alot of people and they love it!

Zinfandel is always popular and is generally red or blush. I aslo like Yellow Tail wines from Australia. I am partial to their Shiraz. My favorite white is Fetzer Gewurtztraminer. They sell both brands at our SuperTarget for about $10 a bottle. If you have a wine store near you just stop on in and ask for help. They are generally super nice and helpful.

Have you tried Stella Rosa? It's my fav and I've yet to meet a woman who does not LOVE it. The bottle will run you from $10.00-$13.00, they make a great red (personal fav) but they also have a Bianco (white)...I promise you will not be disappointed.

Clos Du Bois Merlot is a mild and flavorful red. Seven Daughters white is a blended white that is sweet but not overpoweringly so. If you want a good sweet moscato, I like Nivoli. Good luck and have fun!
