Big Bang Theory. Took a few times to appreciate the humor, but it's good for 1/2 hour of laughter every week!

I know Downton Abbey is the big BBC/PBS series that everyone raves about and I enjoy it, as well, but Call the Midwife wins for me. It's a BBC drama series about nurse-midwives and nuns, who are also nurse-midwives, living in a convent and delivering babies and caring for mothers and babies in the east end of London in the 1950. It's gritty yet beautiful and sweet, classic yet timeless, tragic yet fun, has edge-on-your-seat drama yet is comforting all the same. It's very clever and well-written. The nuns have such wisdom and heart but don't push their religion on others who don't want it. The nurses are youthful in spirit but mature in their career. It's such a wonderful show. I have all three seasons on DVD and cannot wait until the fourth season airs.
