Horrible Acne!

My daughter is twelve years old, almost thirteen and she has moderate acne on her t-zone. We are looking for a regimen that actually works. We have tried some Neutrogena products but it made her face really dry and flaky. We also tried Clean & Clear which we used for three months and did not help at all. Any suggestions? I am soon going to try Noxzema products but I need reviews first. Thanks!

Hi! I'm 19 years old and have had acne all my life. I've tried proactiv and I do have to say it worked for me. I never kept up with it regularly but it did work. Lately though, I've been trying this product called Murad and it's amazing! It's a three-step process, somewhat like proactiv but they have many different treatments you can look into for inflammed skin, or dry acne, and they get really specific, which I like! I've been using it regularly for over a month now and my face is extremely smooth! I no longer have pimplies allover my face. Now it's just more of the occasional one or two that pop up whenever I work out and/or forget to wash my face but as soon as I apply the spot treatment on it, it goes away. I wish you the best of luck on trying to find something that works for her.

My sister has 3 kids and one is 13 and she had moderate acne mainly on her forehead and nose and she was so upset by it but she tried proactiv and just washed her face every night before bed and her face cleared right up. ANd she stopped using it 2 weeks ago and she hasn't had it since. And it leaves her face smooth and definitely looks really healthy.

You should use a cleanser and spot treatment with sacilic acid in it, it helps dry out the pimples. And be consistent. Make sure her pores aren't clogged with make-up or sweat before she goes to bed.

I suffered from acne since I was a teenager. While over-the-counter products are very accessible, I recommend seeing a dermatologist. S/he can make a personal assessment and recommend something specific to your daughter's needs (not all acne is just acne). Often prescription meds are stronger than what's available over the counter. My doctor prescribed a topical gel that proved much more effective at fighting my acne. Such a small price to pay for looking and feeling better about yourself. Good luck!

Pro Active is the bomb!!! During my high school years I had horrible acne it was so embarresed there were days it would get so bad I would stay home from school. On of my friends told me about the product and how well it worked for her and I went out and Bought it, and ever since my face has been clear and so smooth.

Burt's Bees just came out with a new acne line. It uses salicylic acid and the rest of the ingredients are pretty natural. Just remember that it takes at least a month for there to be improvement.
