Horrible Acne!

My daughter is twelve years old, almost thirteen and she has moderate acne on her t-zone. We are looking for a regimen that actually works. We have tried some Neutrogena products but it made her face really dry and flaky. We also tried Clean & Clear which we used for three months and did not help at all. Any suggestions? I am soon going to try Noxzema products but I need reviews first. Thanks!

I too have had the same issue, since her age. However, all over my face. I have cystic acne, and have suffered deep scarring in my face from it. I have tried everything. Cheap stuff, expensive stuff, home remedies. I find that SEABREEZE works quite well. But use a combination slin moisturizer afterwards, as it does contain alcohol and may overdry if used to much. Also BANISH acne scars is hot on the market...its rated five stars.

I tried every product in the book when I was her age, and throughout high school. I think the important piece for us to know is what type of acne it is. Is it cystic? Or typical acne? Do they get very swollen? For me I had cystic acne, and using tea tree oil at night along with a good moisturizer helped to clear up some breakouts. However I ended up going on Acutane and it cleared my face right up. Of course there are side effects with the medication but they only lasted 6months and I have had great skin ever since. I hope you find something that works for your daughter!!

I'm a consultant for Posh. Pore-fact is my go to suggestion for younger acne. It has tea tree oil in it which is amazing!

We lucked out on Benzac. Her (my 12 yr old, going on 13 in Aug) face is relatively clear, even during her period. I just wish she would use it on her upper back!

Hi I have tried Proactive and all poplular Acne treatment all to end very badly. Until I tried Curology . This is a customized skin care through the site curology.com You get to have a Dermatologist look at your skin by you submitting very candid photos of your skin condition. They come up with a customized skin prescription topical medication. You can try it free for 30 days after that. its 19.95 a month. I am telling you my skin and acne (cystic) and hyperpigmentation due to my dark complexion have improved. I used to hide skin with foundation. I have even stopped wearing foundation ! and just do my eye make up. Your skin also starts to get smoother and clearly noticeable within two weeks of using the product.
