Make hors d'hoeuvres in advance and all you'll have to do is briefly stick them in the oven before serving. Jalapeno Poppers are a crowd-pleaser, but why not try them with a Thanksgiving-themed twist? These Kickin Cranberry Jalapeno Poppers, submitted by SheSpeaks member deeva_22, have a balance of hot and sweet. Perfect to get the palate ready for the cranberry sauce on your Thanksgiving table.
An even easier classic appetizer is Baked Brie with Fig Jam by LoLoLopez. It looks fancier than a cheese plate, but it doesn't take much extra time. You can toast your own bread or just serve it with crackers and fruit.
If your oven is too crowded to warm your apps, don't worry. There are plenty of delicious foods you can serve cold. We've all eaten deviled eggs at parties, but try making them a little different for the holiday. These Buffalo Ranch Deviled Eggs by Freesocial2011 are a little spicier than the traditional version but are just as easy to make.
Want something for the crowds to munch on while they wait for the meal? What about serving popcorn? It will make both kids and adults happy. Plus, it's a lighter snack that's super inexpensive. Try this Home Movie Popcorn by Rafencat or make it more festive by serving different versions. You can pair a savory version (sprinkle on salt and your favorite herbs) with a sweet one (top with cinnamon and sugar.)
Dips are the perfect appetizer to serve on Thanksgiving because they can be made in advance, they're easy to bring to a potluck event or they can be served at home to a big crowd. And what better way to celebrate the season than with pumpkin dips? This one from SheSpeaks member siouxsieq12 is a Pumpkin Pie Dip. It sounds like dessert but is a delicious starter served with fruit slices or graham crackers.
Or try this Spicy Pumpkin Hummus by member SavoringTheGood. Watch how easy it is to make this dip and then store your veggies in Rubbermaid FreshWorks until they are ready to be served. You can even enter a bonus giveaway here to win a FreshWorks set and $50 grocery store gift card!
