I tweeted. I have talked to my kids about money.
I am a single mom who works in nonprofits and we live in a wealthy neighborhood. We've talked about money and disparities and saving and debt. She's 6 but I want her to have more financial savvy than me
Haven't had "the Money Talk" it's an ongoing conversation.
No I haven't, but I think it's an important thing to do.
This is something we have just started working on, this would be a big help.
We talk money all the time. I think he may be starting to tune me out! He's starting his first job soon so we really want to make sure he's off to a good start.
My son saves money in two banks. One for saving for the future and one for spending. He is 8 years old and whenever he gets his allowance or any other money, he splits it between the two banks.
Yes, we are having the money talk.
Not yet, but I think it's a wonderful idea. Have to start them early!
I just had a baby, so we haven't had the money talk yet, but I want to be prepared and help her be as money savvy as possible.
Instead of one big talk, we just keep it as an ongoing conversation. We talk about how much things cost, and how we make choices. We give the kiddos money every week for their tzedakah boxes, and then let them brainstorm and decide which charity we should support. By keeping it on their level and consistent, I hope it paves the way for bigger financial conversations- they are 6 and 2.5!
I have not had the money talk yet because she is too young, but I plan to!!
I talk to my 5 year old about money a lot. He knows all about coupon clipping, earning a high income, saving money for important things and thinking for 24 hours before making a big purchase!
This book sounds like a good guideline for helping my children be aware of saving, spending wisely, etc.
I have! My 7 year old is doing better with earning and spending allowance $.
