Two weeks ago, the SheSpeaks staff challenged ourselves to take a month and complete personal goals. They ranged from drinking more water to getting more organized to being more appreciative of the world around us. And we challenged all our members to join us!
Two weeks into our month-long SheSpeaksChallenge and we are going strong (though we've had a few slip-ups along the way!) How's it going for you?
Haven't joined yet? It's not too late! Is there a goal you would like to achieve? A dream you are working toward? Tell us for the chance to be one of five lucky winners of an Amazon Echo Dot!
Check out some awesome member posts and updates from our SheSpeaks staff. For even more inspiration, look at #SheSpeaksChallenge on social media and our discussion board. Keep them coming!
Prep the Day Challenge, Ann
I've missed a few days of getting my morning organized the night before, but overall I have kept up with it and it's made a huge difference. I'm not so flustered and running all over the place in the morning. I don't waste precious time and my head is clear on what I need to get done each day. Its really relaxing to feel more organized and more "in the drivers seat" of my own day. Plus, I'm snapping at my family less in the morning because I'm calmer. Ahhhhh!!
Water Challenge, Julia
I've had great success eliminating added-sugar during the week when my day is structured. The weekends have been harder and I've had a few "moments" where I fell off my plan. But overall, I've been feeling a bit more energetic and I'm sleeping better, so that gives me the incentive to keep trying to stay on track every day.
Push-Up Challenge, Susan
I haven't been perfect - I had to take a couple of days off from doing push-ups because I was sick, and I forgot to do them one day, but I got back to it and I did 18 push-ups this morning. I'm so proud! It helps that my 10-year old son decided to do the challenge with me - he's much stronger than me, so I don't want to embarrass myself too much in front of him!
Healthy Eating: Soup Challenge, Galit
I've already learned a lot from what seemed like just a simple soup challenge. At the beginning, I was making a different soup each day but I was getting stressed trying to be creative. Plus, we couldn't eat it all and my freezer was getting full. So I re-evaluated and decided that I can serve leftovers or repurpose ingredients I have already. It's been good to realize that I don't need to overthink dinner and it's shown my family that they need to be less picky.
Meditation Challenge, Kelly
Other than a couple of days when I had the flu, I've been able to meditate every day. Somedays are easier than others but I've seen longer periods where I have no thoughts interrupting my silence. It's helped me let the small things go and appreciate the important things. I have a long way to go but a greater sense of peace is already happening for me.

Working our way to growing our family through IVF and battling the struggles of infertility.
I'd love to be happier. Simple in theory, but I've really been trying to appreciate the small things that make me smile!
I think I updated on the wrong discussion board, but two weeks into the challenge, it was harder than I thought. I started off strong and then started tapering off. I forgot to reach my goals some days; some days, I tried to do the catch-up thing and ended up having to chug a lot of water by the end of the day, which was not enjoyable. I needed to get into a better rhythm.
I have been going slowly lol, I have uped my water intake and have started simple forms of yoga, brand new to it but I'm loving it
I am working towards a job change to better suit my family and their needs, as well as mine! It's a big move! I have been with my current job for 10 years, but am rarely home in the evenings. I miss so much because of this and feel like my children are growing up behind a closed door. I have to make this change now before it's to late and I regret it for the rest of my life! My challenge is more then a one month challenge but a huge challenge none the less!
My goal for this year is to lose 50 lbs! I have already lost 15 lbs but have started to lag and really need an extra boost!
It's been difficult to clear my head of thoughts in order to meditate but listening to relaxing music has helped, as has doing guided imagery.
I'm starting my month long challenge today of drinking more water and less sweets!
Still doing well. Hope everyone else is too. Good luck to all!!!
doing ok, trying to drink more water everyday
