I try to start early and do some prep everyday. Chop veggies. Make desserts and anything I can do ahead of the big day so it is not so stressful. Added bonus is getting more time to spend enjoying family.

My holiday survival tip is, do all your prep-work the day before. Also, make a list, this way you won't forget anything. Then basically go down your list, check everything off as you go. Before long, you're making the gravy, and everyone is impressed how everything is done at the same time.

Make as much as you can ahead of time. And ask for help when you need it.

If you are like me and do not own a dishwasher then you are well aware how fast your sink can fill up with dirty dishes during cooking for the Holidays. I find it helpful to always keep hot soapy water readily available and wash them as they are getting dirty. This way you are not overwhelmed later with a trying to clean up a huge mess along with other things needing to be done.

I save the big shipping boxes and currently have presents packed in them. On the famliy day they will be used for trash. Makes for and easy clean up to have big boxes in designated areas.

My holiday survival tip is wine! Ok, ok, it's positivity. I find that avoiding debates at all costs and focusing on smiling and laughing and of course my little person makes things go a lot more smoothly. And did I mention the wine??

I always prepare all of our desserts and other foods that can be refrigerated the day before we cool for Thanksgiving. It helps to keep from getting overwhelmed dmwhen fixing a huge meal..

My holiday tips are to make sure that everyone in the house participate in some sort of activity. From myself, to the kids, and my husband. Getting them involved brings more happiness and joy to my family. While cooking, we have a good time, full of laugther.

1.) Accommodate for some extra time to allow children to help make the meal if they want to. A lot of times, parents give their kids activities to keep them out of the way while they rush around and do all of the cooking. Allowing kids to help will make the day more memorable and fun. 2.) Always make a little more food than what you think you need to have some wiggle room for last minute guests. No one likes to run out of food on the holidays and there's always bound to be at least 1 person that wasn't invited that shows up. Even if they don't and you end up with more food than you need, who doesn't like leftovers? 3.) We always have our big holiday meals mid-afternoon so we don't have to do all of those dishes at night after a long day of cooking and celebrating. This way everything is done early enough that you have time to relax and visit before your day is over.
