Have community gardens where people can get fresh fruits and vegetables for cheaper than grocery store prices.
My husband and I are already trying help the local children at our school and make a difference in their lives. When we volunteer in our children's classrooms, my husband and I will look around at the kids and take a mental note of the ones that have holes in their shoes, may not have a backpack or do not have the school supplies they need. We then try our best to covertly get shoe sizes or favorite characters and go out and purchase these items for the kids. I know the teachers really appreciate it and you can see from the children's faces how happy and proud they are to just "fit in" with the rest of the kids.
Develop more job opportunities. The community I live in has the highest poverty level in the state of Kansas.
I would help my community by organizing food pantry #OneWaytoHelp
Everyone who is able can donate one can of food to the food banks.
Would love to help our local home for abused kids with a clothing drive for the new school year

I volunteer with our food bank whenever I can and encourage my students to do so as well.
I'd like to help small towns have more expansive recycling programs that could handle not only aluminum and paper but also plastic and glass. With so many plastic bottles in my own household, keeping them out of landfills will reduce the size and numbers of those we have to have going forward.
Plant flowers and trees.
I would like to more programs to help the homeless and veterans who are in need
