We have a week where we help take care of the school gardens. My daughter was in the garden club and before school ended they planted vegetables, flowers, herbs and more. Each week a different family volunteers to take care of the garen. Today my daughter and the teacher who is running the project who is a wonderful person is digging up one of the gardens to replant with lettuce for use in the cafeteria. With school begininng next week, they will be able to use many of the items from the garden.
Our community needs to get back to doing a Recycle Reuse Earth Day Event. Teaching the young and building our community to be stronger and resourceful. Our children need to learn more about science and our environment.
Giving food to kids on the weekend who don't have anything to eat is very important to me. I love the Backpack program that gives kids food to take home so they are not hungry.
i do not know if it is non profit or not but i see on TV to help and donate new coats and shoes to foster children. and with fall and winter coming up i would like to add the children in homeless shelters. they need to keep warm and have dry feet when they go to school. they need to know they are loved too. i am a mom and grandmother kids matter.
I would donate to the public library which continues to give back to our community!
I'd work to end the shootings in Chicago by teaching peaceful conflict resolution to kids from elementary school on up through theatre and improv.
I would remind people to pick up their trash at the beaches, parks and etc.
Our household always recycles and it is mandatory in our city. We also mulch our lawn and chop up leaves in the fall to reuse in my flower beds. I also have two rain barrels and only use that water (when we get enough rain) to water my flowers and plants outdoors and indoors.
I'd love to make the school lunches and breakfasts more healthy for the children.
I would try to help in creating a safe, structured place for kids middle school and high school age to hangout, maybe get some exercise and some home-work help if needed. There are no places except the mall for kids in our small community to go when school is out or for after-school care.
I would like get a bathroom goodie bag together. with soap shampoo toothpaste and toothebrushes
recycling program!
I would volunteer at a soup kitchen!
Participate in the end of summer beach clean up!
I would assist the elderly community with errand assistance like shopping, laundry, and entertainment.
