Would You Give Dinner at Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks a Try?

Looking for a new place to dine? You may soon be able to add Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks to the list of possible dinner spots in your neighborhood. Though many of us depend on these establishments for a piping hot cup of coffee and a breakfast bite in the morning, they are now looking for a way to make bank around the clock.

Daily Finance reports about Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks’ new move for 2015 to try and compete with fast food chains giants like McDonald’s. Though word on exactly what will be on the menu is not yet out, Starbucks is expected to expand on their current small plates evening menu that consists of items like truffle macaroni and cheese, bacon wrapped dates, and parmesan crusted chicken skewers.

There is speculation that Dunkin’ Donuts will be inspired by some of their overseas menus when they bring dinner to their U.S. stores. Their stores in India offer burgers and wraps to customers. Dunkin’ Donuts president of global marketing and innovation John Costello explains, “We have a variety of products and flavors that are tailored to the regional preferences of our guests around the world such as donuts stuffed, topped and glazed with everything from rice pudding to saffron to crushed pistachios in India.”

Whether you’re dining on mac and cheese at Starbucks or a steak sandwich at Dunkin’ Donuts, those in charge think it’s high time they open their doors for dinner. Costello says, “Though breakfast remains our core, today people are seeking all-day dining, and they want to eat what they want, when they want it and where they want it -- that's why we are so committed to menu innovation and giving our guests even more options that they can enjoy any time of day.”
