I live just a couple miles down a national scenic highway from a farm with a fabulous organic pumpkin patch. They grow so many different varieties it's hard to keep count, but I'm determined this year to make a dish from every type. Consequently, I've got a nice little pile of pumpkins stacked up in the corner of the dining room. I've made herbed pumpkin and goat cheese galettes, roasted pumpkin in herbed wild rice with spinach and chickpeas, pumpkin pies, pumpkin pound cake, pumpkin snickerdoodles, pumpkin butter, and savory pumpkin and kale custard tarts. Tomorrow I'm making a delish sage herbed pumpkin, kale, and cheddar bread pudding. I have so many ideas for more dishes. Yum!

My usual, old family recipe pumpkin bars and pumpkin pie. In addition to those deserts, I will be making spicy sausage cranberry stuffing, crock pot cheesecake, honey mustard glazed ham and whatever else my daughter requests! Pumpkin seeds when we carve the pumpkins too! Cannot wait. Fall and the holiday season is my favorite time of year. Lots of decorating as well : )
