Growing up I despised my mother and all the discipline and supposed wisdom she tried to impart on me. Now that I am grown, I can't be more thankful for everything she did for me. Now that I have my own 9 yr old stepdaughter, I find myself saying/doing some of the same things. If it wasn't for my mom, I wouldn't be the person and stepmom I am today. Honestly, if it wasn't for my mom, I probably wouldn't have been strong enough to take someone else's child under my wing and raise her as my own. She's also a great grandmother! She treats my stepdaughter just like she is one of her own. She's amazing in every way, even if she is a little neurotic, haha (she was organizing her sprinkles by color and shape when I spoke to her last! lol)

My mom worked hard to take care of us when my dad passed away. She had to put up with my rebellious teenage attitude, she is the most loving, giving, caring person i've ever met. & This gc will DEF. go to her if i win!

She always taught me - and still does! - to be positive. Life may get you down but there is a rainbow in the future.

My Mom told me before I was married, not to expect to change characteristics of the man I marry. Now, 32 years later, married to the same man, I realize she was right. I realize that no matter how hard you try to change bad habits in your spouse, it is HE who has to change for himself (or herself).

My Mom told me to save a portion of every paycheck, always pay your bill in full and on time and laughter is the best medicine.

My mom has always had great advice, and I look up to her and respect her advice because she practices what she preaches. My parents have been married over 40 years, and have raise 4 successful and stand up kids that have gone on to be faithful in their own successful marriages and great parents themselves. My mom had given me lots of advice over the decades, but I've always liked the advice she's given me about marriage and parenting the best. The most helpful marriage advice has been to be a loving wife, when he gets home from work give him a kiss, let him unwind, and always always always let him know you appreciate him and that he's a good provider. As a parent, she told me to love my kids, and always choose your battles. She is also the best grandma to our kids, and shows them endless love, grace, and kindness.

My mom & I share the same autoimmune disorder and I almost lost her twice. She raised my brother & I by herself, often working 3 jobs at a time as well as help care for my grandmother who had Alzheimers. Through it all she has been the shining star in my sky. I learned immeasurable strength, staunch resilience, and creative industriousness from my mom. But above all the best wisdom she has imparted to me is that family comes first. The most important thing we have in this world is each other. She is my best friend and I love her with every inch of my heart. i am truly blessed to be her daughter!

My Mom always instilled in me that I can do anything I want. No dream was too big. She also taught me to live life to the fullest and not take a day for granted. She instilled in me hard work, working for what I want, and just how to be a good person in general.

It used to drive me crazy when my mom would say "You better be good cause one day youre gonna have a daughter that acts worse than you".. many years later.. she was right, my daughter doesnt listen to anything lol Seriously though, my mom always told me to be myself and not try to be someone else to try to please someone, but my favorite line she used to say was about relationships "Never make a man a priority, when all you are to him is an option" and that has helped me find the right man and Im in a wonderful relationship! She taught me a whole lot of other things too, my mom is great!!

Losing my mom was so hard, I think about her everyday. My mom taught me a lot and she would tell me that sometimes life is good, sometimes life is not so good, but whatever life gives you, do your best and have faith that things will work out. I miss my mom so much!!

My mom had so much advice and wisdom, but one thing she taught me that we never know what the future will hold, so there's no sense in worrying too much about things that haven't happened yet, and instead be happy and grateful for all the good things we have today.

Growing up my Mom made being a Mom look like the absolutely coolest job in the world. She was kind, compassionate, patient, encouraging and caring. All these years later I am now a mother of 9, with our 10th child due in July. All those things my mother taught me about what it meant to be a mother are now valuable tools I use to be the best mother I can be with my own kids. I owe it all to her.

My mother left me and my Dad when I was only two weeks old, my Granny was like my Mom. I learned a lot from her, the most important things were how to bake and how to keep a calm mind when things are chaotic. She was the classiest woman I know, and I always strive to keep a cool head like her at home with my 5 kids.
