I start by organizing things and then cleaning

I have been purging our house room by room. I spent over 10 hours in my son's room cleaning every inch of it. The kitchen is done and so I am off to start in on another one. Busy, busy!

When the chaos of the holidays was over, I actually enjoyed the quiet and cleaned up by jammin' to some of my favorite music. It was the perfect way to unwind after the craziness!

I plan on getting the house together by reorganizing my closet and donating clothes that no longer fit or are not worn to the goodwill or Salvation Army.

I'm hoping to completely re do most rooms in our house this year! We moved in over a year ago and still need to make some changes including a ton of paint after skim coating lots of walls. I will be picking up lots of dust! Time to buy some new cleaning products and vacuum.

I didn't have much of a holiday at my house. We went to my son's for Christmas day. I took the few decorations I put up down after Orthodox Christmas. I'm not Orthodox but since they celebrate their Christmas on Jan. 7th, I leave my decorations up until then. It seems sad that many take down the beautiful Christmas adornments before their special day.

I've learned to take my time gathering seasonal items up, or something inevitably doesn't get put away. Then a whole house dusting and mopping, makes the New Year fresh.

Putting up Christmas and then getting back to one day at a time, slowly it will get done , the swiffer the better ~ :-)

I put away all of the decorations and clean my house from top to bottom, one room at a time

purge old toys and documents, before the chinese new year deadline.

I attack it a little each day and as I make progress, it feels and looks so good and "back to normal" that it gives me an impetus to keep at it and I end up doing a lot each day to finish the task. I also try to get rid of one or two older, tired things each year because it is so easy to accumulate things as the years go by, and getting new things for the holidays is not always a bad thing.

My boyfriend has been cleaning the apartment lately because I am the only one working right now. He has thrown out a lot of old stuff and done some rearranging too.

I am in the process of just eliminating excess junk in our house ie, donating stuff that we don't need. And will try to put everything possible in containers to be more organized.

After I put my Christmas tree away 2 days ago, dry swiffed, wet swiffed, dusted and mopped - Wheew My house is tip top now! Woohoo
