I am thankful for my daughter and son-in-law. It has been tough since my husband passed away, but they keep me moving forward. I miss my husband every day, but when I see what a wonderful person my daughter is, I know he'll always be with me. My son-in-law feels more like a son. My daughter couldn't have found a guy that I would love more. I truly am blessed.

This will be a really special Thanksgiving for me. In April of this year I was reunited with my father whom I have not seen since I was about 2 years old. He is in a Veterans Home and is now 76 years old. My husband and I travel over an hour every week to see my Dad and we spend hours with him on every visit. Dad is missing parts of his memory due to dementia and doesn't always know who I am but he does know how much my husband and I care. This Thanksgiving will be the first time that I have spent this day with my Dad.....and I will remember it always!

So thankful for my parents, the way they raised me, the faith they modeled in front of me, and they love they showed. Also thankful for my relationship with Jesus! He is gracious, loving, & patient and forgives all the bad things I've done, and for the hope of living with Him in eternity! Also very thankful for my loving hubby & precious daughters!

I am thankful for my family & friends. One of my dearest friends was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily it was noticed in Stage 1. She has undergone 2 surgeries to remove the cancer & she is cancer free today. I'm grateful to the men & women who fight for our freedom every day & have heartbreak for those that don't make it home alive.

I am most thankful for my beautiful teenage grandson's continuing ability to walk and heal after his catastrophic injury while playing football in his senior year of high school. He suffered a broken neck and spinal cord injuries at that time, and is now working very hard on both his rehab and his studies as a sophomore in college. There is nothing in my life that makes me more grateful than this, and I am sure that the prayers of so many good people have helped, and continue to help.

I think that we have to be thankful every day, not just on Thanksgiving. I am thankful for family, a roof over my head, and not having to worry about not having those.

I am thankful that we are still a free country. I am heartbroken that once again we have people across the seas that cannot come home to be with their loved ones.
