Every year as far back as I can remember, we always had cinnamon rolls and homemade Christmas cookies for breakfast. I've kept that same tradition with my family, and I hope it's one my kids continue when they have families of their own.

Our favorite Christmas morning breakfast is Oven French Toast and Farmers Casserole. I can make them both the night before then all I have to do is put them in the oven while we're opening gifts. Both are super simple to put together. Oven French Toast: 1-16oz loaf of french bread cut into 1" slices. Grease large baking dish (a little larger than 9x13) place bread in bottom of dish. Mix together 3/4 cup half and half, 1 cup milk, 4 eggs, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp. vanilla. Pour over bread slices. Cover and store in refrigerator over night. In the morning combine 6 Tablespoons butter, 2/3 cup brown sugar and 1 1/2 Tablespoons corn syrup in small saucepan. Heat just until bubbly. Pour over bread. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. I have also placed apple slice in the bottom under the bread and that is really good!

Our family tradition is for everyone (my husband, two daughters, two son-in-laws, three grandsons and one of them is now married and our newest addition one great granddaughter) to spend the night at our home. I get up early on Christmas morning and fix pecan waffles, bacon, eggs, grits and orange juice for the gang! Now that our grandsons are older, we can sit around and enjoy breakfast as a family! We always talk about the "old days" from when our daughters were small to the excitement of our grandsons and now our new great-granddaughter! Our daughters clean up the kitchen and then we begin opening our gifts! It is a wonderful time of reflection and a time to give thanks for all we have!

Easy oreo Truffles!! I mean, EASY, Oh so bad for you and delicious! Crush a 16 oz bag of Oreos to a fine crumble reserving 6 cookies to crumble on top later ( crush in a food processor or use a rolling pin bag method). Add an 8oz bar of of room temp cream cheese and mix. Roll into small balls and dip into melted chocolate and top with reserved crumbles..put in fridge and sit. Let guests rave! I just made these last night for our New year's party and used white chocolate this time around..YUM. Looks so festive! I also used Wilton melting chocolates, but you can use any old chocolate and just make sure it doesnt burn.
