Yes, holiday party season is here!  Whether it's a staff party, class event, playgroup or neighborhood cookie swap the chances are you are going to be at a party this holiday season.  It's always a challenge to strike the right style for each occasion. We all try to get the right balance of glitzy glamour and cool casual style.  With so many new trends and styles to try the holiday season is an inspiring time for bringing out your personal style. Maybe you can rock a new eye shadow, bold lips in classic deep reds, or glamorous purple nails, it's fun to develop a signature style that makes them shimmer for the holiday season

When you're busy getting ready for a party, putting your style together, what kind of music inspires you.  Do you listen to holiday music or some of today's chart toppers?  Are you dedicated to one or two artists or do you have a varied playlist? How about party music, do you have some favorites that really get your party started?  We'd love to hear your tips and favorites for festive tunes.

Holiday style is about adding a little something extra some bling, sparkle or a teensy bit of drama. Take advantage of the bold holiday colors to bring a pop of color into your normal routine. Here are some ideas:

  • Try a new color eye shadow - green, yellow, purple or blue – and finish with a black rimmed liner
  • Turn heads with a matte purple lipstick
  • Have your nails be your accessory - try a pale gray or a deep sapphire
  • Bring radiance to your face with a little sweep of bronzer
  • Try adding curl to your hair where you usually go straight
  • And accessories, rings, bling scarves and bracelets can bring together your look

When you want to add some sparkle and inspiration to your holiday style, what do you use?

To be entered to win one of our prizes this week, simply create a review of your favorite style or beauty product or a music review in our SheSpeaks product reviews.  We love to hear all your recommendations for adding a little extra sparkle to holiday parties this year.

For me I also love the sparkly outfits you can't wear any other time of year! I have a gorgeous velvet jacket that has glitter and sequins all over it. I like to wear it with my black velvet legging, silk blouse and suede knee high boots! I use blue glitter eyeliner under my eyes for added sparkle. Brings out the blue in my eyes, and a smoky color over the lids with just a bit of gold dust in the center of the eyelid. Lots of dark mascara and shimmering lipcolor complete the look along with a great hair do!

I reviewed Zoya nail polish, which is my favorite way to add some holiday sparkle. Colorful makeup doesn't seem to work on my face(I wear a lot of neutrals), so I like to go crazy with my nails!

Make sure you have a sparkly smile, use a tooth whitener. I use Crest 3D strips. To give your eyes a Holiday sparkle use eyelash glue and cosmetic grade glitter to give the area above your eyeliner extra sparkle! If your eyes are tired don't forget to use some Visine, it really makes a difference. Those are my Holiday Tips:)

To add some sparkle to the holidays, I like to wear anything that has some shimmer to it including lotion, earrings, necklace, bracelet. I also like to incorporate red into my wardrobe during the holidays since it is such a festive color.

My favorite beauty product to add some sparkle to my holidays is Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Blackest Black because it really gives a dramatic look to my eyes and makes them shine.

I always wear a pretty necklace, earings and a couple of sparkly bracelets that I have received from my husband with sparkly diamonds and saphires! I put on a nice pair of slacks and top and accessorize them with the above. I put on some christmas music, light some Christmas scented candles to get in the mood, sitting by the fireplace.

I like to use subtle glitter. I use a slightly frosty eyeshadow and great statement jewlry. I think the outfit is all about the shoes. You can dress up or dress down any outfit with shoes ; )

I usually wear my hair down so for a holiday look I will pull it up into a ponytail and then wrap my hair around itself and secure with a festive barette or pin and leave some tendrils on each side. I wear classics like a black sweater and suede skirt with tights and boots but will add a pretty brightly colored scarf. I think black eyeliner and loads of big lashes, almost nude cheeks and a red lipstain is a holiday classic too.

I love dressing up for Christmas! It's a time we can go all out with shimmer and glitter and be all glam! I wear shimmer on my eyes...I'm in love with VS silk eyeshadow in provocateur. And it's perfect for all skin tones. I also swipe on an extra layer of mascara. I take extra time to curl my hair with a 1 inch curling iron so my hair which also makes my hair looks more voluminous. It's also fun to add a little shimmer on my neckline and shoulders. If a wear a neutral colored outfit and am feeling daring, I will wear a bright red lipstick :)

I love love love this time of year. I can go ahead and get as dolled up in sparkles as i wish! I use a rolling perfum ball with sparkles in my favorite perfume "Pink Sugar" and i wear my sparkle tanks under all of my clothes, cardigans, etc. I add a little more sparkle to my face with highlighter around my eyes and cheekbones. I swear this trick works to brighten your face, and your Holidays!

Blinged-out, sparkly jewels and bobbles is how I prefer to add a little extra sparkle for the holidays. My favorite is a sequined headband!

I wear a sequin dress or a sparkly tunic, or just wear a cardigan or jacket to add some glitz. A black or dark gray jacket would look good over almost any color of party dress. It can instantly make an outfit dressier when you don't have a lot of money to spend an entire new outfit.Whether it's a headband, barrettes or just some bejeweled bobby pins, an easy way to add in some ?bling? is to wear something with rhinestones in your hair. If you find that you don't have any clothing that has sparkle and don't want to make any new purchases, then you can always add some shimmer to your makeup. To dress up my look, to have more sparkle, look no further than your shoes or jewelry. You can buy jewel-toned color heels or simply add a necklace that has some of your favorite colorful stones in it. A cocktail ring is also a fun party piece or a holiday pin can be affixed to your shirt or dress for an easy and pretty look.

Being someone who normally is light on the makeup and frills. I find that the holidays are a great time to have fun with color and step it up a notch. I like to add a little shimmer/glimmer to the eyes and/or the hair with a clip in decorated with gemstones. This year I really love the feather/ flower accoutrements that can be added. They are so fun and festive.
