Who says a time out should only be for children?

Jokes aside, a few minutes a day to disconnect and clear our minds is priceless. The opportunity to take a few breaths, relax our shoulders and just sit still can be exactly what we need to recharge and finish the day with excitement and a smile on our face.

It's easier said than done, we know! Crazy schedules, friends, children, spouses, and not to mention today's technology almost always keeps you connected to something or someone. But the benefits of finding that time, even just for a few minutes, can make you feel like a whole new person, like your old self again, maybe even like superwoman.

Research has shown (and supporters can attest) that a little time and effort can go a long way. Practicing yoga, stretching, meditating and running a nice bubble bath are just a few methods of how we can disconnect, and relax. But you, our members, are really the experts. You're the multi-tasking gurus. You're the working professional, stay-at-home mom and party planner all wrapped into one and you do it day after day.

So we want to know, how do you do it  ALL and still find time to disconnect? How do you find a few minutes a day or every couple of days for "Me Time" to rejuvenate your mind and body? Do you have help, set the calendar, or stick to a routine or are you self-aware and just know when it's time to retreat on your own.  Do you find it's easy to put down your cell phone or does someone else unravel your fingers from the keyboard?

Share your experience with us by posting how you disconnect and how you reflect, and you'll be entered to Win 1 of 5 cool relaxation gadgets.  While many relaxation methods can be done with only a few minutes of peace and quiet, we wanted to compile some cool gadgets to help inspire you to find those few minutes a day for yourself.

The contest starts Wednesday, October 5th and ends Monday, October 10th at midnight EST. There will be 5 lucky winners with one winner receiving the grand prize, the Sharper Image Foot Massager, valued at over $50.

Here are the prizes:

Sharper Image foot massager ($50 value)

Aromatherapy Vaporizer with Oil ($40 value)

Conair Foot bath with bubbles and heat ($20 value)

AND

2 Motorized Scalp Massagers ($12 value each)

Good luck!

I lay out on my driveway and look up at the stars. Breathing in the evening air, thinking of each stars that catches my eye as a pleasant memory, and feeling the warmth or coolness of the ground.

I had to have an MRI today and it was NOT an open MRI. I am claustrophobic. To calm myself I listened to music through headphones and did my yoga. The combination of the two was all I needed. When the MRI was finished, the techs had to wake me up. I could not believe I actually fell asleep during the MRI. lolol WOW! I must have been really relaxed. Yoga has helped me in my chemotherapy, and has helped relieve my back pain. I'm so glad I took the yoga classes offered for cancer patients by Susan B Komen program.

You can't go wrong with the classic soak in a warm bath, aromatic candles, a glass of wine, some fruit or cheese to go with it, and bubbles, of course! Just make sure the hubby or alternative sitter has the kids under control or do this when they are in bed! For me, it's the ultimate in relaxation! The moment is just for me!

My life is like the waves of an ocean. It's ever changing and nothing ever goes back to the way it was. I have lots of things that help me chill out like shopping, or sleeping or listening to loud music. But the one thing that helps me RELAX is daydreaming. I go outside on my back porch and pull out a lawn chair. I sit down and look up the sky and just dream. I look at the clouds and the trees and birds flying over and just dream about everything that is not going on in my life. I dream about being on a million dollar yacht just drifting down the Red Sea. Or I dream I am in a hot air balloon just floating through the sky in Ireland. I take myself away from life and go to where I know no one else can get to me. I am the only one with a key.

My husband works night shift so I am home alone in the evenings. After I have dinner, feed all the animals I get out the baby lotion. Something about the smell of the lotion is calming to me. Then I get on my pj's, crawl into bed and open a good book. When he gets home from work we have time to spend a few minutes together before I go to sleep. This way I have my relaxing time and I also have a few minutes for him.

I find that I can practice Yoga breathing any time any where. It's very relaxing and really opens the mind. Simply hold one nostril closed and breath deeply though the other one. Then close that nostril and exhale though the other one. Now repeat. Do this for a couple of minutes and you'll be surprised how much better you feel.

My favorite way to relax and find my ME time is to have a massage. This is the best way to moisturizer my body, while removing tension from my muscles. My massage therapist uses aroma therapy and after my massage I indulge in dark chocolate.

I quit trying to do it all. I live a simpler life without a lot of running around. I realized that even eating out really doesn't save time. I try to mainly hang around the house, and I find that it gives me a lot more time for 'me' time. I just try to make sure that my home is where I want to be, with my favorite things to do and lots of comfort, peace, and love.

to relax i like to take 10-15 minutes a day to just meditate and focus all my energy on that. it helps clear my mind, be at peace with myself, and just concentrate. after that i feel completely relaxed and ready to attack the day. it is hard at first so start of with 2 minutes or so and then just start to build up every week. it is one of the most relaxing things that i have ever done.

I go on a "vacation" in my family room. When I am in my chair...with a book, newspaper, or tv remote..I go on vacation for 10 minutes. During that time, I am not home. It is wonderful. I look forward to my 10, sometimes longer, "vacation" every weeknight evening.

I use to take long warm bubble baths with candles going. When I was laid off and went into a depression I knew I needed something more. I decided to pamper myself. First step is putting on some dinner music for a nice light meal by candle light. Then, dancing around my living room to at my own party. Next, I change to jazz music for a warm bubble bath. To ending, my night with some gospel music while relaxing on the couch until it's time to go to bed.
