Where does the time go! Summer is over, school is back in session and the holidays are quickly approaching.

For many (if not all) of us, time passes way too quickly and we can easily put our jobs and our families ahead of our own health and peace of mind.

We're not saying ignore the kids, let your spouse fend for himself, or start slacking off at work. But, we want to make sure you're also making some time for yourself and that you don't leave it to January 2012. Fall is a perfect time to reboot, the weather is cooler for an outdoor jog or stroll and it’s easy to picture your renewed, fitter self in a few months, at a holiday party or family gathering.

So let's start today!

We all know it’s not just about diet. When was the last time you got a good night's sleep? Had a great workout? Or got a massage? Do you have an endless To-Do list that’s keeping you from taking a walk? Do you want to try yoga, boxing or P90X?

Well this week, SheSpeaks wants to help give you some tips and a friendly boost to Reboot Your Body. And, we're enlisting the SheSpeaks community to help with their collective wisdom and cheerful advice. So, we're asking each of you to share your tip, your words of wisdom, whatever you've learned along the way that has helped you and might help someone else!

Comment on this blog post below with your words of wisdom and enter to WIN one of the  items below that will help you Reboot Your Body Today! The contest starts Thursday, September 22nd and ends midnight EST Tuesday, September 27th.

Here’s a tip from a member of the SheSpeaks team:

If you’re looking to lose weight, the “My Fitness Pal” app on the iPhone is ridiculously helpful. You enter how much you weigh now, how much you want to weigh and it will tell you how many calories you can intake a day and track it. Enter everything you eat each day (as specific as the Cosi signature salad) and whatever exercise you do and it will tell you how many calories you ate, how many you have left (if any) and exactly how much you would weigh in 5 weeks if you keep doing what you’re doing. It’s a great way to know exactly where the weight is coming from and how to lose it!

And these are the prizes!

Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation DVD System (over $50)

Gaiam Total Body Balance Ball Kit

Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer

YogaAccessories 1/4” Extra Thick Deluxe Yoga Mat

Good Luck!

It seems to me that if I can get on the right track right away I do better all day. My big challenge is getting the water consumed, so I try to make it as appealing as I can for myself. You might like to add a couple drops of flavor (such as the new MiO) or lemon slices. For me, and I know it's weird, but crushed ice and not ice cubes is what I need to make my water more drinkable. I put it in a large plastic glass rather than a drink bottle so I can chew on the crushed ice.

Sometimes it's the little things that add up...while you are cooking at the stove, lift your heels and lower...working your calves.....when taking pan or food out of a lower cabinet, stoop down, doing squats a couple of times.....when taking laundry out of the dryer bend all the way to the floor....when sitting at your desk, do some side bends with your back straight...when doing steps at home, do them twice(or more) and on your tippy toes! Just make exercises out of your everyday moves to limber/lossen up, and strengthen your muscles. Doesn't take more than a few moments to fit extra movement into your day! And it adds up to more flexibility and a leaner body!

I have committed to making "me" time a priority at least once a day. I've started talking walks for at least 20 minutes to 45 minutes a day and just walking and listening to my mp3 player gives me time to not only get some exercise but to clear my mind and relax. I feel so much better after I have this time to myself and I'm benefiting from the exercise while doing so! It's always important to pick something that helps you to step away from all the chaos of the day and center yourself again and walking does that for me!

Over the past year, i have been putting my body into an overhaul approach. I have focused on HEALTHY eating, getting ACTIVE, and POSITIVE thinking. Some things that have helped me the most have been- Farmer's Markets- they ROCK! I get in season items grown close to home that always taste better and last longer than supermarket bought stuff. Plus, the people are great resourses on new ways to prepare or suggestions for new items to try. To get active, I paired up with a buddy and we did charity walks. We stayed and help some awesome causes. Also, I love kickboxing class. I try to stay positive, too. Just stop and say "I can do it" a few times a day. So, far I am down 50 lbs and down to a size 10 from an 18. Plus, my kids are seeing Mommy being healthy. YAY! Good Luck to everyone.

Working out with your partner or spouse is a good way to stay vamped. It gives you alone time together and it is also better than going it alone. A good tip is for you and your partner to cook a good healthy meal together, then go on a light jog together, and if you have a Wii console the Wii Fit is a good way to work out together taking turns. It also lets you weigh in and set a goal that the both of you can work towards together. Also, good for bringing you closer to your partner during the long winter nights.

I have a list of low calorie snacks I love (pickles, popcorn, etc.) and try to eat those first when I need a snack. That way I can ignore how much I'm eating for a brief moment since they have hardly any calories. Also, I have much better luck when I don't have chips in the kitchen...they're too easy to grab. For working out, I find it a treat to intersperse a yoga class in between tough workouts...it's much more relaxing and doesnt feel as much like a dreaded trip to the gym.

My tips to reboot your body are: 1. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses of water. You will feel energized and less hungry through out the day, plus your skin will thank you for it too! When I didn't drink as much water and had soda instead I ate more and I felt like a zombie. So drink your H2O! 2. Try to get in at least 15 minutes of cardio first thing in the morning. It will boost your energy for the rest of the day, make you feel more confident and boost your metabolism for the rest of the day. 3. Try to do interveral training like Sprinting on the treadmill at least twice a week. That will help you curb your appetite and really help you scorch some calories! It will also boost your energy levels for sure! 4. Eat plenty of natural foods like veggies and fruits!

As a massage therapist and personal trainer, it's easy for me to tell people how to relax but harder for me to take my own advice..The Best thing I can do for myself is stop and take deep slow breaths counting to 10 inhaling through my nose, then counting to 10 exhaling out of my mouth. This is difficult to do at first as most of us are shallow breathers, But once you can complete that exercise at least once your world has already calmed back down with your breath..Or at least mine has..:)

Rebooting is great, but we must bear in mind, that what we do to reboot, doesn't cause us to have to keep doing it. What I mean, the most frustrating thing, is to start something, but not either know how and or we over do it. With this said, I think walking / jogging is a great reboot, but many times, we over do it. I have been using and growing with each step, to better reboot myself by increasing my jogging skills - reliving the stress of the day. I found an app. that works with all types of phones etc. and it's call "couch to 5K" and now I am on "couch to 10K". this app. allows me to listen to my music, while a guide instructions you when to walk / jog. No, I didn't create this app. I just love it, since I have tried so many times to do a 5k, yet, fail because I didn't know the right way to train. I reboot every time I get outside, listening to my music and exerting my day out into the wind.

It's a full system shake-up! When I fall off the 'fitness wagon', I do a 2 week challenge. The three parts of my reboot are sleep, diet, exercise. SLEEP. So easy for me to go without it or to trade it for a completed 'to do' list. But for a fresh start, I make myself TAKE 8. I say NO to TV, extra projects and evening internet! Bye to late night snacking! After a week, it becomes my natural rhythm. DIET. I only buy good food. No contraband! I also plan out my weekly menu on Sunday. The fewer spontaneous (read: hunger driven) choices I have, the fewer opps to sabotage myself. I drink water, dairy, and diluted juices. No soda, alcohol, lattes. EXERCISE. I commit to being more active for 2 weeks. I do this by placing mints in a jar. For a 2 week reboot, I'll try to workout 8 times. I put 8 mints in the jar and eat 1 after a workout. I can see my progress! Motivates! When I commit, even if I cheat, I feel amazing in 2 weeks. The reboot becomes routine.Voila! A healthy lifestyle is born.

Fall is my favorite season. I, along with my husband and two kids, love to go hiking and biking. On those days we don't get to go outside, I always make sure the kids and I get exercise by putting on our favorite songs and dancing our hearts out! We have the best time and we get our daily dose of physical activity at the same time.
