Where does the time go! Summer is over, school is back in session and the holidays are quickly approaching.

For many (if not all) of us, time passes way too quickly and we can easily put our jobs and our families ahead of our own health and peace of mind.

We're not saying ignore the kids, let your spouse fend for himself, or start slacking off at work. But, we want to make sure you're also making some time for yourself and that you don't leave it to January 2012. Fall is a perfect time to reboot, the weather is cooler for an outdoor jog or stroll and it’s easy to picture your renewed, fitter self in a few months, at a holiday party or family gathering.

So let's start today!

We all know it’s not just about diet. When was the last time you got a good night's sleep? Had a great workout? Or got a massage? Do you have an endless To-Do list that’s keeping you from taking a walk? Do you want to try yoga, boxing or P90X?

Well this week, SheSpeaks wants to help give you some tips and a friendly boost to Reboot Your Body. And, we're enlisting the SheSpeaks community to help with their collective wisdom and cheerful advice. So, we're asking each of you to share your tip, your words of wisdom, whatever you've learned along the way that has helped you and might help someone else!

Comment on this blog post below with your words of wisdom and enter to WIN one of the  items below that will help you Reboot Your Body Today! The contest starts Thursday, September 22nd and ends midnight EST Tuesday, September 27th.

Here’s a tip from a member of the SheSpeaks team:

If you’re looking to lose weight, the “My Fitness Pal” app on the iPhone is ridiculously helpful. You enter how much you weigh now, how much you want to weigh and it will tell you how many calories you can intake a day and track it. Enter everything you eat each day (as specific as the Cosi signature salad) and whatever exercise you do and it will tell you how many calories you ate, how many you have left (if any) and exactly how much you would weigh in 5 weeks if you keep doing what you’re doing. It’s a great way to know exactly where the weight is coming from and how to lose it!

And these are the prizes!

Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation DVD System (over $50)

Gaiam Total Body Balance Ball Kit

Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer

YogaAccessories 1/4” Extra Thick Deluxe Yoga Mat

Good Luck!

One thing I notice with diminishing daylight comes diminishing energy. A rule of thumb I swear by during the days it's dark when I get home from work is that the minute I get home, I change into my workout gear and immediately workout. If I allow myself to sit down or get into any other chore, I end up skipping my workout. This rule has worked out so well for me; it's rare that I miss a workout. Afterwards I always feel better and have more energy to tackle any chores that I have to do at home that night...TRY IT!

I set out my workout clothes the night before and make it part of my daily routine. I always feel better after a workout. Taking care of my body is a priority. If I'm not healthy, how can I take care of my boys and set an example for them?

I gave up meat for 10 days and it seemed to really give my metabolism a boost. When you reach a plateau in weight loss try cutting just one thing from your diet for a short period.

I like to treat myself to new workout DVD every so often to keep my motivation up to stay in shape. I also try to be realistic and not beat myself up mentally for not being perfect.

I am such a multi-tasker, I try to find a way to incorporate other things into my exercising. For example, I live one mile from both Wal Mart and from Walgreens. I will ask my husband to take a walk with me (multi-task #1: spending time with hubby), and I get to do my shopping at Wal Mart or Walgreens (multi-task #2) and get my exercise (multi-task #3).

Want a great and FUN workout that works out your entire body without hurting your joints? Belly dancing! It's great for the muscles and easy on your knees. You can join belly dance classes or just get a DVD and do it at home. I've been belly dancing since 2003 and LOVE it. It started out as something to do for ME. It was my ME time. Now, I do it because I enjoy it. I've met so many wonderful people from all over the world because of belly dance! Oh, and please, don't think for a minute that you're too big, too small, too uncoordinated, too...anything! This dance is for every BODY!

I recently discovered Cerra teas thanks to She Speaks. I had always been a tea drinker, but Cerra.com offers a new way to reboot the mind soul and body with tea. It's an entire tea ritual. My favorite thing to do now, while drinking tea is to write down a particular nagging thought that I have, on the Cerra dissolving notes. Once I have meditated on it for a while, I wash away the note in warm water. It brings a special kind of reboot, when I am able to release something that has been mentally troubling.

I get an hour lunch at work during the day so I walk for 20 to 25 minutes first and afterwards I eat lunch. It helps to break up the day and take stress away. Plus it's great exercise.

I reboot my body daily by having a few cups of green tea throught the day. First it relaxes me as I drink it then only a short while later I have a lot more energy.

What is close at hand is what you will eat. Surround yourself with seasonal fruit and vegetables. If there is an unhealthy food that you know you can't eat in proper portions, don't have it in your home. Later if you do choose to have it, you will have to make a special trip to buy it, and hopefully buy just one portion size.

To reboot my body and put a little extra cash in my pocket at the same time I got myself a paper route. I have 46 customers and if I do the whole route on foot it takes me a little over an hour walking at a pretty fast pace. If I'm running short on time or the weather is crappy then I have my husband drive and I run all the papers to the door. It gets my heart beat pumping and I've honestly never felt better. This is the healthiest I have ever been. And it's also a very social exercise plan so you also get to reboot your social skills too.

To reboot my body in the fall I use the kids going back to school to remind myself to go back to exercise.....cardio and yoga even if a little bit every day does a lot to stregnthen my body and keep me healthy. For those chilly fall nights, nothing beats a bath with a book and lots of bubbles!!
