When most people think of French food, they think of French haute cuisine - complicated recipes, small portions, ornate presentation. This cookbook is not about that kind of French food, it's about recipes passed down by generations of farmers that are relatively easy to make, hearty, and provide fuel for a day's work on the farm. There are lots of recipes here that take advantage of fresh ingredients, and are great for a family meal or dinner party.
