Stuffed French Toast

Makes: 6 servings
French bread slices stuffed with a cream cheese filling.
French bread sliced into1 1/2 " slices
cream cheese (softened)
chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
1 t or more
Cut french bread into slices and then cut a pocket in the bread not cutting all of the way through the slice.
Mix together cream cheese, vanilla, nuts, sugar.
Stuff each slice with cream cheese mixture.
Mix egg, vanilla, milk and spices together. Dip bread slices in egg mixture and cook on hot griddle just like you would with regular french toast..
You may serve with regular syrup or mix 1 cup any flavor preserves with 1/4 cup orange juice. Heat on medium heat until it boils stirring occasionally. Serve warm
