My 8 month old is learning to talk. We are trying to teach her how to say Hi and Bye. We were driving past a shaved ice shack in the middle of winter and my daughter says she wants one, I tell her that they are closed right now because it is too cold and she tells me "But Mom it is the perfect time to get one because then it won't melt."
The funniest ---OMG!!.......is when my son. At the age of 4. Emptied my purse in a restaurant. And started to name each of my items in my purse. My youngest son tried to begin saying "I love you" at 18mos., but he could just say "Iyou" (eye-you). To this day, (13 years later) that's how our immediate family - and extended family - say or sign "I love you"... two letters: IU. It's almost like our secret (yet obvious) "code" of endearment!
My 2 year old daughter found an empty paper towel roll on the counter, she grabbed it and came up to me and shouted "Arrrrgh I'm a Pirate!"
