When that head-achey tired feeling reminds you that girls night out included one too many glasses of wine, the “Hydrate Now” app may be just what you need. This new app is said to prevent hangovers before they even begin by reminding you to drink plenty of water when you imbibe.

As many of us already know, a big reason why we experience those annoying symptoms of a hangover have a lot to do with dehydration. The way the Hydrate Now app works is by pinging you periodically during a celebratory night out to remind you to alternate between booze and water. Drinking coconut water or something else high in electrolites can also help to prevent dehydration.
Developer of the free app for iPhone, Jacob Catalano explains how his app is different from other apps that are dsigned to help you hydrate. He says, “I know there are a lot of hydration apps out there, but I wanted to design one that was specifically designed for the hangover prevention use case. So I figured the best way to do that would be by sending an almost annoying amount of provocative push notifications that remind you to drink water.”
You decide when to make the notifications active and how often you want to be reminded through the night. And next time you meet your crew for some margaritas, you’ll know you have a surefire way of drinking more responsibly with this app.
