Description: My Mama used to make these as a "comfort food" during the winter for her family and I loved them dearly!
Ingredients:
1 Head
Yellow Cabbage
1 Medium
Onions, chopped
1 Clove
Garlic, minced
1 Pound
Ground Beef or Turkey
1 Can
Tomato Sauce
1/4 Cup
Green Bell Pepper, chopped
1/4 tsp
Salt
1/4 tsp
Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon
Slap Your Mama seasoning (other spicy seasoning)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a frying pan, cook the ground turkey or beef, onions, garlic and green pepper until meat is cooked through and the vegetables are soft. Remove the cabbage leaves, lay them flat, add a spoonful of the meat mixture, and roll up. Place a toothpick to hold the leaves closed, and lay them closely next to each other in an ovenproof baking dish. Mix tomato sauce with salt, pepper, and the Slap Your Mama seasoning. Pour the tomato sauce mixture over the top of the completed cabbage rolls. Cook in the oven for 1 hour. Enjoy!
Note: You can make these in the crockpot too. Great on cold, blustery afternoons.
