LOVE IT I love this movie! Its one of my favorite christmas movies. I absolutely also love trains. This was a perfect gift to my sister because we will play with it all day.

We got this train set for Christmas this past year. We set it up under the Christmas tree on Christmas eve night along with all the other presents from Santa. It really made Christmas morning magical for our kids. I figured with my son being 8 years old this would probably be his last year to believe in Santa and this train set under the tree made it a Christmas he will probably remember for the rest of his life. As far as the actual functioning of the train goes, it worked great. It stayed on the tracks. It didn't go through lots of batteries. We put batteries in it one time and they were still good when we put the train back up after New Years, and the train got constant use during that time. The train was also very sturdy. We had about 10 neighborhood kids in our house at one point playing with it and they weren't exactly gentle. I cringed every time someone dropped it, scooted it on it's side across the floor or walked on top of the track. It survived with no damages. The track was a little hard to put together but the older kids could do it without help. I would imagine if the track wasn't hard to put together it would derail all the time. So it is a good thing. The only thing a little tricky for the kiddos was getting the engine and cars connected and lined up on the track appropriately. I also had a little bit of problems, but I don't see anyway to go around this problem. It's just part of playing with a train set. The box the train came in is easy to repack the train in for storage, so the train will not get damaged while being stored. To sum it all up. Great product. No regrets in buying this train set. I see years of use from this train set in our home. We love it.

When I was growing up, we always enjoyed my dad's old train set that chugged around the tree. Last year our family purchased a brand-new Polar Express Train Set from Lionel. It has an intricately detailed G-Gauge steam locomotive, with real train sounds and lights. It truly delights both children and adults. It is expensive, but we found it for half price ($100) on amazon.com. There is a remote control that makes it easy to use. It will whistle and play 'All Aboard for the Polar Express'! It is truly a toy to be treasured and makes our holidays extra special.
