Getting engaged and married all in the same day may not sound romantic to every couple, but for Nicole Rios - she couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to start her new life with now husband Danny Rios. ABC News reports about Danny’s surprise engagement and wedding that he planned for Nicole in order to alleviate any stress from wedding planning.
Since the bride suffers from lupus, an autoimmune disease that can be made worse by stress, it was especially thoughtful of Danny to do all the planning and surprise Nicole. Danny managed to plan the engagement and wedding over a period of five months without Nicole knowing a thing. And Danny came out the other end of wedding planning with a newfound respect for those who pull off the stressful endeavor. He says, “I give women so much credit for all the planning they do for weddings. I kind of turned into a ‘bridezilla’ during it.”
Danny was able to make plans for the wedding a little easier since he already knew his wife’s dream was to get married in their New York backyard. And since her mom is about the same height as Nicole, Danny was able to pick out dresses in two sizes and have it tailored to fit Nicole. Danny whisked his wife to be away on a trip just before the wedding while her parents secretly stayed at their houses following all the instructions to get ready for the big day. And once the couple arrived back from their trip, it was go time.
After he proposed to her in front of all the family and friends who came in to attend the wedding, he took her into their house where he had yet another surprise. Nicole recalled the romantic moment, “Danny said, ‘You know how much I love you and if you want we can do this tonight. All of our closest friends and family are here. He told me to turn around and a dress and tux were hanging there.” She adds, “It was exactly what I would have wanted. I really couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to marry him.” Both Danny and Nicole hope that their unique story also draws some attention to lupus. Danny says, “We want anyone who has it to know that if you have lupus, it's a crummy disease but you can still find happiness. It’s out there. Don’t stop looking.”

That was the absolute sweetest thing ever. He is romantic, compassionate caring and just an old romancer. Love it
I think the groom was especially thoughtful. He had to know that she would say "yes" and be married on the same day. I think there was some type of conversation that took place that he knew this was the thing to do for her. For him to think of her health was especially special. Would I go for this? It depends on the taste of the person who was carrying it out. But I do not like surprises or to be put on the spot with questions in front of people. It makes my stomach nervous.
