I grew up reading this book in Germany and was excited to find this in the English translation because the stories in the book teach important lessons to children about proper behavior - ranging from not to bite your nails to eat what is served at dinner. Some of the stories are probably too gruesome for little children, but kindergarten age kids will certainly appreciate the fact that their parents (as in my case) grew up being told the same lessons from the same book as they are being taught now. I really recommend this book because the drawings are very realistic and the lessons taught are still valid
