Taking care of your skin is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Have you been thinking of upgrading your skin care routine?
Great news! We have some easy and effective tips for you to revitalize your skin with a skin care technique called double-cleansing. Plus, you could you WIN 3 fabulous skin care products to help get you started.
Read more on how to double-cleanse. Plus, one winner will receive one Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, one pack of Organyc cotton pads, and an 8oz CeraVe Hydrating cleanser (valued at approximately $30).
Double-cleansing is an ancient Asian beauty method, that helps to balance oil production in your skin. It effectively removes bacteria, dead skin cells, and pollutants like sweat resulting in less visible dullness and less acne. Plus, it removes more bad things on your skin which would overtime cause aging and breakouts.
Make sure to only use the double-cleansing method in the evening because if done more than once, your skin will become very dry. Very dry skin can result in the skin over-producing oil to recompensate the dryness. Those with sensitive skin and rosacea might want to skip out on this.
Follow these easy instructions on how to double-cleanse! *Note: The types of facewash you use do matter.*
Three options to use for this round are: Micellar water with a cotton pad, a cleansing oil, or a cleansing balm.
We recommend is the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water and organic cotton pads, both of which you could win! These two products are very gentle but efffective on the skin. Any kind of waterproof makeup or sunscreen will come off instantly.
1. Make sure your face is dry.
2. Take your product:
3. Remove the daily grime from pollution, makeup, and residual sunscreen:
Optional step: Take a soft washcloth, run hot water on it and then pat it on your face to break down the cleansing oil.
4. If using a cleansing oil or a cleansing balm, splash lukewarm water on your face to wash it off.
Kind of Product to use: A water-based cleanser.
Try to choose a gentle cleanser that does not foam, has no fragrance, no alcohol, and no exfoliation beads or sand. Our favorite is from Cerave. If you have oiler skin, a clay-based cleanser could work too. Just be careful! The gentler on the skin, the better.
1. Take a dime size of cleanser.
2. Lightly massage it on your skin for ~1 minute.
3. Wash off with lukewarm water.
4. Pat dry your face with a clean towel.
Your face should feel clean, but not tight to the touch. No worries if your skin is red - it should subside. This redness might be because you were too rough on your skin. Now your skin is at its optimal stage to soak up all the toner, serums, moisturizer, face creams, and acne targeting products.
Happy spring cleaning! Let us know if this method works for you!
