Fashion Trend: PANTYHOSE?

We were all taken away by the wedding between Katherine & William a few months ago. It was beautiful, elegant, and every little girls dream. Ever since the wedding of the centery, Kate has been in the news with her fashion trends and amazing hats. One trend that people are talking about that Kate is bringing back…PANTYHOSE!

I have been working in corporate America for almost 10 years now. I can honestly say that I have NEVER worn pantyhose to work. Why do you ask? Simple! Why on earth would I put myself through 9+ hours of sitting in front of my computer working, having my circulation almost cut off by pantyhose. Ugh! Even the thought of it makes me want to grab a pair of scissors and CUT THEM OFF.

Well watch out ladies, Duchess Kate is bringing this horrible 80s trend back to the forefront. Sales in the UK are up and it is just a matter of time before they are sold out on shelves here in the U.S. Now grant it, they do make your legs look smooth, unless you forgot to shave and you have tiny little hairs poking through the tightness of these dreaded things (*I am not speaking from experience or anything :cough: :cough: HA!).

However the trend turns out, I think we will be seeing a lot more of Duchess Kate and her stylish ways catching on here in the U.S.

Nothing wrong with pantyhose. I'm glad they are coming back, I'm getting older and my legs are starting to need a little help to make them look nicer. At least I can age gracefully.

I, too, have pale legs. It's something that has haunted me since childhood. No matter what I do, I don't tan. I don't want to look like an oompla loompa, so I stay away from self-tanners and spray tans. Not to mention that terrible self-tanner smell...what IS that??? Because of this, I don't wear dresses or skirts. I really like wearing pantyhose and stockings, but don't enjoy the constant comments..."aren't you HOT?", "how can you wear those?" I would welcome this trend. I also like the way they make your legs look.

Summer sheer hose aren't bad. And for those in certain professions, like IBM, banks, legal, etc. it's been a requirement for work. So glad to see them come back. I think it's a bit more lady like and fitting for more formal occassions.

Oh please NO! I detest pantyhose! I saw someone wearing them last week and was shocked. I didn't know the trend was coming back!

I'm thinking that if you're doing 'any' fashion thing for 10 years... it could be time to change! Kudos to Kate for merging and updating the best trends of days-gone-by - - into a workable look for today that is elegant yet comfortable. The headline of "stunning" she garnered - was merited, imo.

I'm excited to not have to show off my white, veiny legs at formal events any more. I think hosiery is so much more comfortable than it used to be.
