I also found this book to be repetitive. It did help with some issues I thought I had with my dog and I do feel it came in handy. I would recommend this read for anyone who has a dog you can get some helpful information.
After getting my first dog, I immediately went to pick this book up to get the full Cesar Millan perspective. He makes some great points - how much exercise your dog needs, how to train your dog to stop bad behavior etc, but it's easy to see how some of his theories are a little extreme. The book, although informative, is also repetitive and not very well written. You're better off watching the Dog Whisperer on Nat Geo! All said - the book has some interesting and educational sections, especially toward the end.
