Comedian Amy Schumer is no stranger to haters and internet trolls. The feminist leaning star has dealt with pretty much every kind of cyber bullying in recent years, this is why it comes as no surprise rumors of Schumer’s involvement with a live-action Barbie movie has drawn harsh criticism - mostly about her weight and looks.

When word got out that Schumer is in consideration to star in a movie about Barbie, people took to Twitter to voice their opinion that she literally is not fit for the roll. One user writes, “I think you'd make a good Barbie if Barbie was fat and not funny.” The nay-sayers on the internet are indeed correct in pointing out that Schumer does not share the same physical attributes as Barbie - especially since just about no one does. The Tablet’s Rachel Shukert points out that Barbie’s measurements in human form would look something like a 39” bust coupled with a teeny tiny 18” waist and a pair of size 3 heels.

Though she could have simply ignored the negative reaction, Schumer decided to say something. She immediately posted a pic on Instagram of herself without makeup, wearing a bathing suit at the beach. She writes, “Is it fat-shaming if you know you're not fat and have zero shame in your game? I don't think so. I am strong and proud of how I live my life and say what I mean and fight for what I believe in and I have a blast doing it with the people I love. Where's the shame? It's not there. It's an illusion.” She adds, “Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support and again my deepest sympathy goes out to the trolls who are in more pain than we will ever understand. I want to thank them for making it so evident that I am a great choice. It's that kind of response that let's you know something's wrong with our culture and we all need to work together to change it.”

It's great that she is going to play Barbie women come in different shapes and sizes and we should give little girls unrealistic expectations of themselves at a young age. The Barbie doll started off as sex doll sort of things for men to keep in their cars in Germany so that is what is disturbing. We need to stop looking at others and judging them for not fitting our standards of what is right

I have to criticize the lack of editing in this article: "people took to Twitter to voice their opinion that she literally in not fit for the roll. "
